Hirahi es un timplista, sí. Pero no es un timplista al uso, o al menos su estilo no es parecido al de los jóvenes timplistas canarios. A los 16 años se mudó a Barcelona, donde hizo la carrera de guitarra, y esos años aprendiendo lejos de las islas le dio una visión diferente sobre el sonido que quería transmitir con su instrumento. El timple entró en los sonidos contemporáneos de una ciudad de la que emergían nuevos talentos, mezclándose con voces como las de Judith Neddermann o Silvia Pérez Cruz. Y bajo este prisma, compone canciones que pone en boca de cantantes que le inspiran para mezclar la raíz canaria, que nunca ha abandonado, con sonidos mediterráneos o los ritmos que durante su infancia le llegaban, como buen canario, desde Latinoamérica.

En directo Hirahi presenta su nuevo disco, `Lo puro´. Es un concierto lleno de canciones cercanas, con melodías pegadizas y un repertorio que se mueve en lo contemporáneo, pero fusionando sonidos e influencias de diferente procedencia. El resultado es un espectáculo moderno, fresco y cercano al público de todas las edades.
